VENTILATION & HUMIDITY
LET'S GET SOME AIR IN HERE !
It can get stuffy inside any small space. That's why I chose the industry standard air vent --The Fantastic Fan!
It has dual ventilation, either pulling air out in exhaust mode or pulling fresh air in. It's like installing a skylight and ceiling fan...two in one! The model I chose has a rain sensor that closes the hood and auto shuts off the motor. It has three speeds. Crack the windows and turn on the fan and you will feel like you're in a wind tunnel ! |

DAP 3.0 is my go to sealant. I used generous amounts of this stuff when installing the Fantastic Fan...covering all the external seams and covering the drill holes and screw heads. Waterproof and extreme weather proof !! Remember to pick up a caulking gun too! I also picked up a squeeze tube of DAP 100% silicon for those smaller jobs that needed pinpoint application. This comes with a plastic screw on applicator that can be cut to adjust the nozzle size. The size of the opening in the nozzle controls the size of the bead of silicon that comes out.
Butyl Tape is used to create a watertight seal around the opening you cut in the roof. After you place the Butyl Tape around the edges of the hole, you seat the Fantastic Fan on top of it and then screw down. Check out my Video on how to do this !

Damp Rid is CRAZY stuff !! It's made of the same crystals as Ice Melt--Calcium Chloride. This stuff absorbs water from the air. It's a great natural de-humidifer. Damp Rid comes in several sizes. I have 2 of the four pound buckets in my Stealth Van and 2 of the small canisters all in strategic places. The air stays dry and comfortable around 37 to 45% humidity. Best to also use a hygrometer to measure air moisture. I keep a small DampRid can in my propane cabinet since the propane tank sweats during use.

This handy little hygrometer / thermometer combo is great! It has a magnetic back so I stick it to the refer-freezer in my Stealth Van. It tells me the air humidity and the temperature inside my Tiny Home. It even smiles at me when the air quality is in the best zone.
Ole' Arm & Hammer baking soda in the flow-thru box is a standard. I keep a box in my refer-freezer and also a box in my propane cabinet.

These Moso bags are full of bamboo charcoal. They help to absorb moisture and odors from the air. The bags are made of a burlap type material that is very breathable. I have 4 of these positioned around the corners of my bed mattress. As I sleep, the moisture from my breathing can create condensation around the sides of the van. These Moso bags absorb the moisture, greatly reducing condensation build up and balancing the air humidity around my bed. If the bags get to feeling damp just sit them outside in the sun for an hour and they dry out. That's all there is for maintenance on these Moso bags.

Yes! It's a squeegee. During cold nights, condensation will build up on the windows and windshield of your Stealth Van, especially if you're Tiny Home is toasty warm inside. Use a hand-sized squeegee to quickly wick away fogging or condensation on your windows. Keep a microfiber towel handy to wipe off your squeegee.
