PERSONAL HYGIENE
Let's keep it clean!
Keep a couple of great products around and follow good health and safety practices and you will do just fine!
The thing about living in a Tiny Home or Stealth Van is that you have to be very aware of your appearance and personal hygiene. People and / or Police are very quick to judge you on your appearance as to whether you are "homeless" or "dirty" or a "bum" or a threat to Society. By having a very clean, well kept appearance you can head off many situations well before they become negative. The goal is to have everyone around you accept you as just another regular person amongst all the other regular people they see every day. During any interaction with the Police, if it comes to that, it is to your advantage to look as clean cut and professional as possible so that they see you as a responsible worker / citizen rather than as a person who has made a choice to live outside the norm...a rebel against traditional society...someone living an off-grid lifestyle.
Huggies makes the #1 best rated wet wipes. They have a LOT of great uses. Clearly, for toilet use, but also are great for taking a "Van Bath"--a good overall wipe down...face, neck, armpits, chest, groin and butt for those times I can't get to the gym for a shower. I also use these for general cleaning in the Tiny Home...countertops, stove, utensils, etc...I also like to wipe my hands off after I pump gas or do any van maintenance, or even after I change out the Propane in my storage tank. These wipes do NOT disinfect any surface. I use a good alcohol based gel to sanitize my hands and then a wet wipe to wipe off the germicide.

Germ-X and Purell hand sanitizers are both good alcohol based gels that disinfect. I keep a pump bottle around for after using the toilet or pumping gas, and the third bottle is for the Gym. I rub this gel on my feet after a shower to kill any bacteria or fungus from the locker room. So far so good!

These Bounty paper towels are big rolls. They are the top pick through Prime Pantry (Amazon). I buy a pack of 4 to 6 mega rolls. I use paper towels for EVERYTHING. I do a lot of cleaning inside my Tiny Home. One roll fits perfectly on my paper towel dispenser...see above photo.

These bathing wipes take wet wipes to the next level. These wipes can be used in place of taking a shower. They are top rated and work great. They are not so soapy that you need to rinse, instead they leave me feeling clean and deodorized. I keep a few packs of these around for those days I can't get a shower--like when my Gym is closed for a Holiday--or when I just need to take 5 minutes to freshen up quickly before going on a date.

This Nivea 3 in 1 Body Wash is top rated. It comes as a 3 pack and is pretty concentrated so a little goes a long way. It has a mild scent, deodorizes well and has menthol so it is cooling. It's the perfect bottle to carry in your Gym bag. Usually the Gym's complementary soap is cheap and low quality. I ALWAYS bring my own so I know what I'm using. As upscale body wash / shower gel goes, this is probably the most affordable while also maintaining high quality and top ratings.

Because of an allergy I have, I've always been sensitive to hygiene and skin care products. Once I was introduced to "Kiss My Face" soap...specifically the Olive Oil soap, I knew I hit a home run! This soap has 3 ingredients: Olive Oil (saponified), Water, Sea Salt. This soap comes in huge green bricks, LOL. It moisturizes, smells nice and is very gentle to my skin and hair. Lathers well and is clean rinsing. It does leave behind a lot of soap scum in your tub but I shower at the Gym so it's not my problem! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND Kiss My Face soap!

Weleda...Why spend $7 for toothpaste? The reason I do is that I have a severe allergy to an ingredient found in nearly every popular toothpaste on the market. I have to find "safe" toothpaste, soap, shower gel, etc...products. I found Weleda. This Calendula toothpaste tastes like fennel or licorice. It's pleasant, very pastey and non-foaming. Once I got used to it I was a big fan! It's a little cheaper to buy off Amazon but in a pinch I will pick up a tube at Whole Foods Market.

I already mentioned that Weleda makes great, non-allergenic toothpaste....well, they score again! This plant based toothpaste gel is amazing stuff. It's generally recommended for people with sensitive or damaged gums. That was me, sensitivity due to receding gums and cavities. After a few weeks of using Weleda products no more tooth or gum sensitivity...no more heat, sweet or cold sensitivity either. I see a dentist twice a year and always receive compliments. Perfect check up! If only I had found these Weleda products earlier in my life when I had so many dental issues.

Earthpaste is awesome toothpaste. It's priced at about $4.50 a tube. It comes in 4 flavors Cinnamon, Lemon, Peppermint and Wintergreen. It is made from 5 safe, naturally occurring ingredients and uses red clay as the primary abrasive. It's a brown toothpaste but don't let that put you off. It's safe enough to eat, the flavors are decent and it gets top ratings from those who use it. Big thumbs up for this product!

When it comes to Crocs, the ONLY places you can wear them and not be ridiculed are--in order--#1 Nurse, #2 Chef / Food Service and #3 Shower slippers. These Crocs shower slippers are excellent. I have 2 pairs that I alternate wearing. I always take a pair into the Gym for showering. These slippers and the Chef types have non-slip treads. They grip the floor like high performance race tires. Totally recommend them!

Again, let's keep it simple! A small Master 3 dial lock. No key to lose, no long combination to memorize. Just 3 fast digits to the code and you can choose the digits and program them in. The lock needs to be just big / strong enough to discourage thiefs from taking stuff from your locker.
