FOOD  &  PANTRY

Are You Hungry?   I Could Eat Something....

As a Chef and foodie, I strictly eat Organic, all Natural and GMO-free foods that have been minimally processed and contain zero antibiotics or growth hormones.  Here is a list of a few pantry staples as well.  Dry goods and bottled juices and cooking oil travel well in my Tiny House Pantry.  For fresh food always buy in small quantities.  I generally shop at local Whole Foods Market, MOM's and sometimes EDDIE'S Gourmet.  These are great grocers here in beautiful Baltimore, Maryland.

PANTRY & DRY GOODS

How could I represent Baltimore and not mention OLD BAY SEASONING.  This stuff is super tasty and goes great on everything...quinoa, steak, salad.  It's a great salt alternative.  Little cannisters are expensive, which is why I buy in BULK!

Manitoba Harvest Hemp protein powder is excellent.  It's the cheapest top quality ORGANIC hemp powder out there.  Goes great in smoothies.  I have a Pineapple, Dino Kale, Celery, Parsley, Banana and Hemp Pro smoothie every morning .....sometimes for lunch too!

While this Roland brand seasoned quinoa is not organic, it's just so tasty!  It's seasoned so well!  I often gift a case of these bags to my brother.  He cooks it up when I visit him.  There are different flavors.  Typically though I buy plain unflavored organic quinoa and steam it with either organic chicken or vegetable broth.  Cook it like rice--2 cups liquid to 1 cup grains.  It's done when all the liquid is absorbed.  Top with OLD BAY and avocado!

Pacific makes excellent organic / free range chicken, beef, mushroom and vegetable broths.  I usually buy them at Whole Foods Market in the 32 oz. containers.  I stock up on them when there's a sale.

This "Breathe Easy" tea is so good!  It's heavy on licorice so it's sweet and cooling, soothing but not overly so.  It also seems to calm upset stomachs, neutralize acidic stomach and open up my lungs.  Interesting stuff...and all natural!

This organic pineapple juice from Lakewood is my #1 go-to juice.  I use it primarily in my morning smoothies.  It's pure and NOT from concentrate.  I pick it up at Whole Foods Market where it's about $1.00 less per bottle than ordering through Amazon.

This organic pure black cherry juice from Lakewood is also my #1 go-to juice.  I drink a few shots of it each day to prevent Gout & arthritis.  It tastes SO good.  There's no added sugar, it's cold-pressed and NOT from concentrate.  It's all natural!  Cheaper to buy the pack of 6 bottles from Amazon than to buy individual bottles at brick and mortar stores.  They ship well packaged in a sturdy protective case.

I've found that organic Sunflower Seed oil is healthier than Olive Oil.  High in Vitamin E, Omega-6 and has a really clean taste.  I've cooked with it for years...alternating with Sesame Oil.  Organic Sunflower Seed oil is best purchased in 1 gallon containers...the cheapest cost per fluid oz. than buying in small bottles.
